Originally I thought we were headed on vacation to the keys.  I didnt find out our final destination till last night.  Apparently my brother in law thought siesta key was part of the florida keys so it turns out I will be spending the week in and around sarasota.  If anyone knows of any good bowfishing or hog hunting opportunities please speak up.  Thanks very much, I will be there the first week of june.  I appreciate any and all suggestions.

Tough time of the year to hunt in Florida. I would suggest Tarpon fishing instead. Siesta key and Anna Maria island are prime Tarpon destinations and you will be there right in the middle of the migration. Rent a kayak paddle 300 yds out from siesta key at sunrise and you'll see 80lb to 160lb tarpon. Should hook up, just be prepared for a paddle back. I live north of Sarasota about 45mins.

Try Nickie Roth, Archery Outfitters (a Sponsor) He offers hunts in June & July in Arcadia, Fl, not too far from Sarasota. I'm hunting with him 1st week of March.

There are LOTS of sting rays in Tampa Bay (about 1 hour north of Sarasota).  I'm sure you can find them right around sarasota too.  They are made for bowfishing, because they hang out in clear, shallow water.  I don't know of any outfitters, but you could probably just rent a boat and do it yourself.  Just be sure to read the FL regs very carefully, as they can be excesively complicated and confusing.  Also, there are a few species of rays and not all are legal.  Good luck.

If you are willing to travel a little bit there are a lot of hogs and turkeys around the Okeechobee area. Not sure what the seasons/laws are down in Florida but I did some work in that area 2 yrs ago and we ran into hogs on a daily basis.
