Hello All! Clicking on this thread you are probably looking to hear some sob story about how I broke my bow.. That would be wrong. My father in law just bought a farm last year with an old broken down house on it. While snooping through the junk inside today I found this old broken in half recurve. It is a Hogren Special. Anyone know anything about these bows? I have not been able to turn up an information on them at all. I am guessing its from an amateur bowyer considering this particular bow is #006 haha.

So what would you/could I do with a broken bow? Any cool ideas!?!?  :knothead:

Cut the handle off and make a door handle to the man cave.

You can always use part of it for knife scales!

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Be grateful that you weren't holding it at full draw when it broke?
Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons; people are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Cut off the lower limb, square off the upper limb and dislplay it or just make a couple of knife handles out of it if the wood is nice. Cut the tip off and make a key fob.

Man cave door handle is a good idea

americanhunter7

Use the tips as key fobs....Got that idea from TG member reddogge. I like the door handle to MAN CAVE idea as well.

cut the other limb off and tie some exercise bands to each end and use it as a strength trainer, and still be able to work on your form

I'd sure like to hear from any bowyers out there whether or not this would be feasible. I also have one that I can't shoot, but hate to throw it in the fire.

Cut out the handle and build a slingshot maybe?
We use inefficient tools by choice, precisely because they are inefficient. Making them more efficient defies our original intentions.
