Hi all!
First I wanted to say Happy New Year to all my bow brothers.

I was lucky to find a beautiful piece of Idaho black Walnut and thought it would be a perfect candidate which to build the entire bow from.
She is a 58" 55#@26" and has a Foam core with a strip of Carbon added to help spit arrows with a fury and it does! To finish off the limbs I added Kudu tips.

The past center cut riser was made from the figured crotch section of the tree and strengthened with Koa and phenolic.Myrtle burl accents dress up the front.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and please ask me any questions.
Thanks,Curt

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

really clean, precise, exceptional work!

Beautiful bow.  The walnut makes a nice looking limb veneer.

I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Just Awful!!!!!!(NICE)
I'm jealous bro. Of your walnut and of your medallion. I love that medallion. Its like , really cool.
Curt that is really great walnut. I just got some walnut thats called Paradox Walnut that is to die for marblecake. It looks very similar. Its also called Bastogne.
I'm going to have to use it in self defense now. Either that or send you a check. LOL. Those veneers are as good as it gets.

God bless and wonderful work . Steve

Thanks guys, the lighting was bad today and didn't pick up all the colors in the wood, just beautiful.
I'm extremely pleased with the foam/carbon core as it really moves the arrows.

Oh my. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool walnut freak. I love beautiful shotgun stocks as they have enough area to really show off the grain. Then I see your bow. It doesn't take a lot of area for that piece of wood to work on you. Nice job of finishing too. Walnut takes some pretty good pore filling to come out like that. Congratulations. Nice that it shoots too    :)
