Nothing better than a simple ole workhorse osage straight limb selfbow. It is one you can depend on under any conditions!

Don't like to toot my own horn about the bows I make unless it a very special one.

I made this one as a thank-you bow for a very special guy I met at the Hill shoot several years ago. Gil was badly wounded in Afghanistan, in spite of wounds that would have put a lesser man in a wheelchair for life, Gil's strength of character and no quit attitude allowed him to rehabilitate himself and go on with life.

Here is the bow that I had the honor to make for him;

Osage, 66" NTN, 56#@28".

Handle back

Osage burl tip overlays with bow stringer groove.

Full length

Gil's special forces team. He is the one behind Hamid Karzai to the right.

I was unable to save the pictures of Pappy at Twin Oaks presenting the bow to Gil from the PA site but here is a link to pictures of Gil and his new bow. Check out that Gizmo tiller!

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

In a fit of stupidity I sold this wonderful Mike Yancey Osage flatbow. Earlier today I was able to buy it back.

64", 55# @ 27", has a little character.

Great shooting bow.

Here are the bows that I have at this particular time. New ones being made and old ones going all the time.

The two on the left are hickory, the middle two are osage and the two on the right are sisters from a stave given to me by Shawn Leanord.

The green one is a raw hide backed hickory

The last is a snake backed Osage

Glen, I was wondering when you would show a pic or two!
