I've made a few bows, but you guys are so much better bowyers, I'm embarassed to post mine.  Love the thread!  Keep them coming.  Someone needs to get a pic of Pappy's snake bow he just finished and posted on PA.  All I can say is "Wow".

Here are some of mine.

Here is a Yew selfbow backed with rawhide doing what they are all made to do, making meat.

That's ridiculous!!  Can you get one of those at your local dollar store. Thanks for posting that Pat.  If you like selfbows, you gotta appreciate that one.  Kris, I'm doing well.  Need to get down and visit sometime.  Still wanting that obsidian blade.  Coon season is starting to wind down, so I should have more time.  I'm ready for it to be over...these late nights are hard on a working guy.

I remember that bow with the hotcha hotcha girls on it Jack, from a few years ago.

I believe Pappy's snake bow pulls 47#@28" and from what Pappy said it shoots very well.

Yep Pat I made that mud flap girl bow, a few years back. I said it was for "bucks only", killed a nice doe with it  :)

Okay, here's my first osage bow. It's somewhat "overbuilt" and slightly heavy in draw weight(67#@28"), but it turned out rather well. I plan to work it down to a more manageable draw weight, if I ever get time to do it. I made this one in '97, I believe:

58" JK Traditions Kanati Longbow
Ten Strand D10 String
Kanati Bow Quiver
35/55 Gold Tip Pink Nugents @ 30"
3 X 5" Feathers

171 FPS @ 9.7 GPP (475 gr. 3D arrow)

Here is a sinew and rawhide backed one I sent to a guy in SC and he has already taken two deer with it this fall.

All beautiful bows, men.  Excellent work on those pieces of wood.
The other day I was shooting the sinew backed osage recurve I made and gave my son.  It is a pleasure to watch an arrow fly right to where you are looking with one of theses.  No pictures of it handy right now, though.
Got to say, fellas, if a stickler for the proper terms were to drop into this discussion they would give us grief on showing backed bows on a self bow thread.   :D

I appreciate the Bows here.

Very nice work!   :notworthy:

This one was made by Bob Barnes. 56"and 50# flip tipped sinew backed with cottonmouth skins (I believe) and pin nocks. No hand shake and just as quiet as any bow I've shot.
