Asbell wool with hoods?

Are the hoods very big and floppy or do they fit like a hooded sweatshirt?

Mine is very big and floppy. I think they make them over sized to easily go over a hat.

Just ordered one! I got the shadow plaid long sleeve with the hood. I hope it comes during our January season. Does anybody know what the wait time is now?

Teresa converted me to liking the hoods. I'm pretty sure she makes them large enough, so that they fit over Fred's Fedora. I didn't like them at first, but now i love them....very simple and functional.

I never cared much for hoods until I started using Teresa's. They are big enough to fit over most hats.

I was surprised how well the hood worked over my stocking hat. It stays in place very well. I sat in a pretty good rain on my deer stand for a couple of hours the other evening and stayed dry for the most part.

I put a piece of velcro stick on on the top of mine. Now I can wear the hood but fold the top back a couple inches so that it does not obstruct my vision. I wear mine on most every hunt.

I have two with hoods and two without. Like the hoodies better. They are much larger than necessary and I can wear any hat that I choose. The hoodie over the top of my KOM Bomber hat is warm and cozy to my thin haired head. Does tend to block some peripheral vision, but you can turn your head inside the hood without moving the hood.

I aggree with Ric O Shay, the hoods are large. I wear a stocking cap and can move inside it. I also can pull the hood forward and shade my face so it does not shine. Best money I have spent on hunting clothes!!

The hoods are enormous, but more functional when you get used to it. I usually have a hat of some kind on anyway for it to fit over. I like to position it carefully groundhunting to shadow and hide my face better.
If it is raining/snowing I can easily fit the whole hood over my large-brim fedora, and stay dry and warm.

Like other's have already said the hoods are huge an will fit over a ten gallon cowboy hat...I think you could roll it up and vecro it or just let it hang when not in use...

I got the Mac pullover so the hood can be removed with the short "vest".
As Theresa pointed out, Fred guided the development of that hood to wear with hat and to be sure to: a) not block vision and b) be wide enough to not block sound. I find it rather seems to help "cup" (like a mule deer ear) for my aging ears... improves hearing cept behind me.

I have two coming one for the wife (vest) and a Mac for me. I had Teresa double the wool on my backside on the Mac. It's kind of ironic we've had 5 inches of snow all winter in our area ,Last year we had 48 inches by this time.

Love that Asbell wool. Got this one a year or two ago and as of this morning anyway, it's still looking good. The hood on that thing goes right over my fedora with no problems at all.

When you first see the hood you'll think...gosh thats big! But you'll see the benefits of it in short order. Asbells pullovers are awesome! Wish I had four or five of em!!
