Yes, it is illegal to hunt them with a bow here in Michigan but legal with a spear or gig.  Go figure.?  I'm not a big fan of the DNR here.  Most of the time they don't seem to know what they are doing.

psychmonky

Good for bullfrogs and greenfrogs in Missouri.

Legal in NY.  You need a small game license to hunt them with a bow.

You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

Legal in Mississippi. I read from your other thread where it's illegal in Michigan and sure would like to know why.I would understand if it's a population issue and after rebounding it would be legalized. If it's about some bozos sitting around sippin tea making uneducated guesses about what should or shouldn't be shame on them. Yes this does happen in the law making proccess!

Hook/Line and by hand only in Nebraska. There's a size limit (4-1/2" vent to snout)so you must be able to catch and release.

bretto

You can use a bow in Kansas but it has to have a line attached to the arrow. Like You were bowfishing.

Never understood that one for frogs.

As you stated, it's perfectly legal here in Illinois. But we have a season and bag limits, which oddly enough, we seem to lack on nearly everything else covered by the fishing regulations.

I bowfish a lot in various parts of Michigan, and while I would enjoy shooting a frog or two, it isn't high on my to do list. I don't see a lot of frogs, they are not an invasive species, they eat insects, their calls are cool to hear while on the lakes and backwaters. Maybe that's why Michigan doesn't allow frog shooting, low frog populations and we have too many mosquitoes!

Illegal here in Nebraska after they put a size limit on them.
