Mr. Rhea that is a most desirable knife. Hats off to your craftmanship. Thanks for sharing.

Long story...I spent a lot of time in Sasser's knife building shed, talking about the special handles I wanted on the knives.  Jim thought about it and pulled a cigar box out of a corner.  Back in the 90's, Safari Club had highly customized rifles built - believe they called them the 'Big 5'...and they auctioned one a year.  Each year, the custom rifle builder tried to out-do the previous years rifle - it was really prestigious to be selected to build one.  Well, as I recall, Jim Sasser was asked to build a matching knife for one of the rifles.  The wood on the knives came from the butt-end of the walnut blank.  All Jim could remember is that the wood blank was exhibition grade and probably cost in the thousand$.  He made me a deal on the small chunk of wood he had left from that build.  The first two knives, the larger ones, were built for my boys.  The next year Jim told me he had enough to make a smaller version so I wrote him a check right there.  The wood is as pretty as any you'll see.

Arbolito Trapper with a snake skin sheath I learned to lace up with the help of a guy I met at the Rattlesnake Roundup in Freer, Texas.

Bunch of nice knives here and Lin's stuff always amazes me.

I feel underdressed, but I'm still proud of my Buck model 110 after 31 years of service and still good as new!

Here's a trio of Sticshooter's creations.

The top knife is my main hunting knife. It has a gorgeous pinned osage handle. It really holds a nice edge.

The middle one I had Frank make for a close friend of mine. The farrier rasp bolster is in honor of his father, who was a blacksmith. The handle is elk horn, which represents his work in New Mexico.

The bottom one I had made for my father-in-law.

Ringneck

Here is my personal hunting knife. One of the first Autumn Hunters I made. It has Gidgee scales from Australia. D-2 Steel at 61.5 rockwell and cryo treated. It's been through quite a few critters.
