Well it has been raining all day here in Penna.

I thought it would be a good time to do a walkabout of yesterdays journey. We are going to head out the first bench and see what things look like. This sign post was at the bottom of the point that I was about to climb up over. It looks like someone is hitting it already.

This log was covered with the deepest green moss you could imagine, just thought it looked cool.

About 2/3 of the way up I took a breather and saw this web in the sunlight....

They look like some cool woods to hunt. Nice pics.

difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

Went a little further up and stopped and rattled. There is a bedding area just down over the bench. Thought maybe I could get someone interested but not today.

Went a little further out and came across my first scrape of the season.

Walked a little further and spotted this in the distance....

Hey Craig, glad to see some activity. Is that up on Montour Ridge?
We are all here because we are not all there.

While I was heading over to that rub I came across this a few yards in front of it. He's heading east to west.

It was really good to see these scrapes opened up and I was glad that I had chosen to do a little walking instead of sitting. I really wish I could have watched him come in and work this one over. He had the branch cracked and worked over pretty good....

i'm allways amazed at how early it kicks in, not a scrape in sight in my neck of the woods.

So there you go guys, especially you Penna. hunters,it is starting up. I hunted last evening also and had a serious stare down with a nice fat 6-point at 10 yards. I hunt the ground and just did not have the opportunity to draw the bow.

  Maybe tommorrow.......
