What should I use to keep my broadheads from geting rust on the sharpened edges?

I've also heard of people using chapstick. 3rivers sells a coating called protect-a-edge for that purpose too.

mahantango

Been using Chapstick for years.
We are all here because we are not all there.

This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

The wife's clear fingernail polish!

Sharpie.  :biglaugh:

A product called "Reel Magic" works great too. Made to spray fishing reels and line. It dries totally odorless, I think its a silicone base. But it doesnt leave residue and I respray whenever I touch up the heads. Leaves a very slick finish.
Before this, I used corn oil, chapstick or beeswax.

I used some recently. Figured whyt not. I can always just melt it off.

Shouldn't hurt anything, right?

Vaseline, used it for years.  Kind of like cosmoline on a gun.

The path of least resistance is what makes men and rivers crooked.

Sharpie  felt tipped pen.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I dip mine in vaseline while they are still warm from the glue.

Jason R. Wesbrock

I use a thin coating of WD40 or honing oil.

Charlie Lamb

Same as Jason.

If you're going to use Vaseline, make sure and wipe it off after applying so there's no excess.... I've heard it can have coagulating properties.

I just use a black sharpie marker.  Sime and does the trick and will not leave a residue inside your quiver.
