I'll be in Colorado for the last week of the season carrying a 57# Chekmate H2 with 55/75 GT's and 225 grns worth of Snuffer up front.

It's the only big game tag I'll have this year,I'm pretty pumped. I been seeing a few good bulls on the mountain to chase but I'm limited to my hunting time this year. I get sundays off but I can hunt most nights after work. I think everyone I know has drawn a good bull tag this year so if I do get lucky and get a weekend off I'll be helping one them with thier tags. Good luck and have fun on your first elk hunt.  64@28 585 grains with 160 snuffers and grizzlies.

Most of the season on public, then the last week on private dirt.

55# Blacktail, 555 grain with WW...a proven performer.

Beware of all enterprises that require a new suit.

Don't give up what you want most for what you want now.

August 27th can't come soon enough.  Hoping to get 15-20 days in this year.  Good luck to all, and safe travels to those of you making the long trip out west.

Unit 61 in Colorado September 9th till the season ends or the tag is filled! Can't wait!!! Assenheimer TD recurve approx 60 lbs at my draw length. Shooting Easton Axis arrows with 100 grain brass inserts with 150 grain Magnus Singer 4 blades (approx 600 grs).  Good luck everyone, especially you first timers!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Tree Killer

I have the whole season here in Oregon planned out. Going to spend a little time over east with a friend, haven't decided which unit yet, don't really care... the final week I was invited to go hang out with a friend and his wife where they're hunting.

The first week I'll hunt the local Cascade elk, unless I get access on some private property in central Oregon.

Might even sneak around in the brush behind my house and kill one of the backyard elk, not to mention the 40 head that are browsing a new strawberry field down to dirt about a mile down the road.

This all may change between now and Aug 27th, but I guarantee I'll be hunting elk with my Blacktail Elite (60#@29) with doug fir arrows tipped with Wensel Woodsman 125 gr heads.
