Ever since the new lineup came out the new Super Grizzly has appealed to me.  I have been trying to put my hands on one for awhile to shoot and "feel" unsuccessfully....Well I found one at 55# online yesterday and due to impulse it is now on its way to my doorstep!  Crossing my fingers that I love it!  Now its time to figure out a starting arrow combo for it!

Very cool, let us know how you like it and please take some pics!!!

Anyone have any arrow ideas?  I want to shoot Aluminums and Stu's calculator shows much higher spine than most "average" recommendations....

2016s cut to 28 with 100 to 125gr heads work well for me, ive been wrong befor though

Congratulations! Let us know how you like the bow.

No Super Grizz in my line-up....yet....They are appealing though.

Scott, one of these days we should get together.  Are you in Hespotucky often?

Carpmaster

Well it has shown up! First impressions are great, looks good, feels solid and...shoots well!  Seems to prefer an 8" bh, which isn't definitive as I started at 7.5 and worked my way to 8.125 and stopped.  I put the scale to it and it is 51-52# at my 27" draw.  I ran some 30.5" 2016s thru it and they showed weak with 125 grain heads.  I also ran some 29.5" 2114s and they were close with 150 grains but were showing a slight kick also.  Just for the heck of it I also threw some 28" 2315s thru it and they were WAY stiff.  Any opinions on which way to go???  Will the 2016s work?  I don't want to go much shorter than 29" BOP (29-30 is my goal) and want to be able to shoot 150 to 190 gn heads...

Henry Hammer

Congrats on the new bow! 2117's if you are shooting aluminums. 30 inches long with 150 to 175 grain points out of my 55 pound bows.
Good Luck..Henry

The 2016s will be perfect cut them to 29.5"s and shoot. When you put a broadhead on them they should fly perfect. Shawn

Cool, I am agreeing with Shawn, cut the 2016's down before moving to next stiffest arrow. Personally, I do not like going more then about 165 grains up front on Aluminums. Lengthwise, I like to keep a broadhead in front of my fingers on the bowside.

Where are the pictures?

Carpmaster

Will try cutting a 2016 down...

I should be able to put some pics on this weekend.

I am useless when it comes to aluminum questions so all I can do is once again say congrats on the new bow and also ask for pic's?

Glad it's working out so far.

I was gonna say go down to 30 then 29.75 and as far down to 29.5 and see what happens with a 125gr head.

Some folks don't do it but I never had a problem using a small tube cutter for alum arrows and reglue the insert with craft hot melt glue sticks.

Adam, if you need a variety of aluminum to try, let me know and I'll hook up with you. Might get over there next weekend...

I have a 55# super Grizzly, and it shoots 2016's cut at 29" with a 125 gr.head perfect. My draw is 28" though.

Thanks Scott! PM me if you are going to be over my way for sure, I will see if I can hook up with ya.

Sounds like the consensus is I need to shave some length off of my 2016s and I will be good!  Will give it a shot.  Thanks!

59Alaskan

I think the consensus is we need to see some pictures of that new Grizzly!!!!   :)
