BEAR Spring-arm bow quivers. Why aren't they mfr. anymore?

These used to be pretty good quivers back in the day (as late as the early 70's, if I'm correct).  So why aren't they manufactured anymore?

I really miss the one that I had!

You can still pick them up on the auction site.  Compared to today's bow quivers, they're quite heavy and sometimes noisy.  And, even with the rubberized coating on the spring arms, they still marred the bow's finish.

I have a couple that I use on my older Bears. What Orion says is true in that they are a bit of work to get quiet.

I like mine. Look around on the big auction site and you can pick one up.

If you get a 4-arrow model, 3-rivers has replacement arrow holders.

They won't work with carbon arrows -- the carbons are too thin.

I have one on my '66 Kodiak, and it is a bit noisy.  but thats the only quiver that I'll use on that bow.

With a few small adjustments you can get them quiet as any quiver.

As I remember it Fred Bear changed the design about the time he came out with his take down. The newer quiver had a spring arm on top and a metal bolt on arm. He also made his bows with an adapter to use the newly designed quiver. Once he did that I don't ever remember him ever making the double spring arm again.
