Sheesh I just had my second bow failure in about a year. This one I bought from the classified ads from another site. Was really looking forward to this bow because it was on the exotic side with double carbon, horn inlays and horn tips, lighter than anything else, etc, etc. Second day shooting it and as I reach anchor, CRACK. OH NO I DIDN'T JUST HEAR THAT. Looked it over, sure enough a crack in the riser. Double Dang It. I'll stick to my North American bows from now on.

Trad is 60% mental & about 40% mental.

That stinks.  Glad you weren't hurt.

LongStick64

I know, I would of had a face full of carbon, and that would be a serious disaster.

Well, be thankful you weren't hurt. Can you contact the seller and see if he will come good for a portion of the price you paid?  :dunno:

Glad it did not come apart and hit you.  It is such a bad feeling.  My scorpion delaminated last year, I know that feeling, yuch!

I do not know much about carbon bows, but I had the impression they were very strong and would not act like a self bow!!! I feel for you. Thanx for sharing your experience. Only good thing is, now your in the market for a new bow, thats always exciting.

LongStick64

I really think that the fact that the double carbon without any glass made the bow too light. The bow was super light in the hand. if the riser had more phenolic maybe it could of taken the abuse or maybe it just was one of those things that happen. Either way I'm ticked that it happened but glad I didn't end up in the ER with carbon fibers stuck in me.

Your quiver is ready for its last coats of finish.Which it will get this weekend.
I have (5) 17" standard version,(2) 15" Standard versions and (3) 13" Extreme versions that are in the works right now. They are some real lookers!!Although I may just be biased.  :D

Look on the bright side. Now you need to get a new bow.

Non-traditional materials giving non-traditional resuts.  ;)

Whow, that's a nightmare.
This story could have been ended in a very different way. You really were lucky not getting hurt...
Now the good news:
Another bow is already waiting for you!
And please remember you don't have to use carbon to make a good bow!

Hope your new bow gives you nothing but joy!
