HELLOOOOOOOOO JUNEAU, AK!!!!!!!!!!

In three days, I'll be starting my way across country to move to Juneau.  As you can see, I can't wait to get there.  We got a nice place right on the water south of Auke Bay.

I'm hoping to stretch a 2-year tour into 4 or 5.  We'll see how it goes.

I know there's an archery club up there...anyone from around there?

Take it easy.

Congrats!  Always had AK on my "dream sheet", but never got it.  Guess that's why they call it a dream sheet.

Sounds like the start of a grand adventure.  I'll look forward to your stories.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Good luck Adam,

I have to wait about 6 more years to get out, it's almost like a prison sentence. With a little luck I'll win the lotto and get out early for good behavior.

It's too bad the liberals made it a miserable place to live, because it's mostly nice.

Good luck to all you guys that made it out.

Enjoy!  I did a tours with the USCG in Kodiak, Juneau and Ketchikan.  Those three assignments were, by far, the best 10 years of a 24 year career that also included Washington DC and Rockaway NY.

Thanks all.

Things I'm NOT going to miss about Jersey:

Taxes
Potholes
Taxes
Crazy hunting regs
All of the REALLY nice people...

There are people that just love it here...I'll never understand it.

More good news...as soon as I get up there, the kings should start running.  Hopefully my stuff gets there in time...

Take it easy all, and thanks for the wishes.  I'll post pics as often as I can.

"It's too bad the liberals made it a miserable place to live, because it's mostly nice."

Why do you have to get political? If you're miserable, well, it sucks to be you, but no one else is to blame but you.

We have one of the longest bow seasons in the country, LIBERAL bag limits, now we have Sunday hunting & 150' perimeter, and there's plenty of deer.

Don't get me wrong, Alaska will be spectacular, and Palin won't be around!

pdk25

He's entitled to his opinion.  It does have long bow season and liberal bag limits for deer.  Other problems too numerous to count.  Obviously he counts liberals as one of them, although that might be better discussed on the political forum.
