I am looking for a short bow that can draw 40-45lbs from a ground blind. I have longbows currently and when folks ask if I want to hunt with them from a ground blind I typically say no due to shooting a 62-64 inch longbow.

I will use this for turkey hunting mainly. I would imagine 45lb would be plenty for deer as well.

Thank you all.

Look into the JK Traditions Kanati. I love mine. Very smooth and quick plus you can't beat the price.

zwickeyman just had a similar post. A lot of good choices. Ambush by Two Tracks, Addiction by Anneewakee(John Dill), Shrew, etc.

I have a 54" Lil Hoot made by Lee Hoot. Hes a sponser here and one of the nicest guys I've had the pleasure of doing business with. The bow is my first short bow and I'm very happy with it.

Treadway , Kanati , Shrew all make great short longbows . For recurves I would recomend the Black Widow PCH or PSA .

Do a search and you'll have plenty of choices..  :readit:

I'd go with a two tracks ambush.  I bought one at compton last year from chuck and it's an awesome bow.  I'll be taking it to Ray Hammond's with me this summer.

Two tracks archery is also a sponsor here if that helps.

Dan Toelke makes a 52" recurve that would be hard to top. Read Pete Ward's review of the bow.

I love my 58" and 56" shrews but picked up a 52" Bear Kodiak Mag for and extra "blind bow". I got it off the classifieds for around $125 with a quiver. If I was looking to get a bow i was only planning on using a few time of year from a blind, that would be the way I'd go.

coaster500,

That take down is sweet looking!

I got to play with a St Joe 54 inch recurve that is 52@28. Very smooth!!!!

Just one more step please!

I've owned a BW PSRV and Thunderhorn Coup Stick.  Both were top notch.  For the money I have a Grayling Kodiak Mag and it will shoot with the best of them.

flatlander37

I shoot a 58" Thunderstick Mag with good success out of blinds and treestands.

Do take the time to look at Product Review section for review of Leon Stewart NEW short 56in bow, called the Lil Slammer. The review is done by Tukuda (Tom Massaro) who appears to really know what he is talking about. I was at Leon's about 2 months ago to pick up my new Slammer Special and have been goofey ever since. While there a friend shot the new short bow and he was very impressed. Leon seems to get such good performance out of his bows, how can a  56 in bow be fast, no hand shock and no finger pinch??? He has done it, Leon's bows are spendy but well worth it and he is a great guy to deal with. Please note the review has pictures and look at the beauty of the wood used on the belly..
