Yesterday just may have been the perfect day, it would certainly be hard to improve on anyway.  Virtually the entire day was spent outdoors with family.  Here are some pictures from stumpshootin' with Grandpa.

There are a lot of interesting limestone rock formations in this area.

We came across an odd looking mushroom and some cool trees.

We'll be moving a treestand to cover this new trail this fall.

Sharing stories on the way back to Grandpa and Grandma's cabin for lunch.

The rest of the afternoon was spent trout fishing, cooking hot dogs over the fire then watching the moon come up on a night hike.  It just doesn't get much better than that.

That truly was a perfect day!  I'm the "Grandpa" in the pictures, and it's always fun spending a day in the woods with son Jay and grandson Luke.

No stumpin' thread is complete without some shooting pictures.  Here's me just after the shot followed by Dad and Luke at full draw.

There really is something special about fires, especially cooking over one.  Our supper was just a hot dog, well done (black) on a bun with chips and the boys said it was the best meal they ever had, here they are hard at work.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. TGMM ♥

Looks like you had fun. I figured Wisconsin would have a lot more snow on the ground.

We had a lot of snow this year but it's mostly gone now.  Some of north sloping hills still have a little snow on the ground.  Hopefully it will all be gone soon.

You can try but you cant improve on that day.

Reminds me of the Family farm near Richland Center WI.  How I long for that place often.

Looks like the absolute perfect day

Wish I did that when I was a kid. No one else in the family spent time in the outdoors though.

Really like the cabin, nothing like having the kids out in the fresh air. I am sure the fell asleep fast with pleasant dreams about the day they had and the ones to come. Well done.
I wonder, when they smell the smoke from a camp fire if they will remember.
