Just stopped by the side of the road and called in 1 Tom and 4 Jakes to with in 30yards. My grey F150 ground blind works pretty good. Can't wait to head to Nebraska for Turkey season. This winter has been a long one for me.

Forget about the calendar. When the wood ducks and hooded mergansers show up at out pond it is Spring! They both arrived today. Turkeys have been around all winter and even in Jan. on warmer days the males would display and gobble.

We know Spring is right around the corner when the spit thaws on the gas pump island at the local convenience store.

Weather has been great here in southern as it has been in the 70's and the 70's are supposed to last until the middle of next week. The blood sucking ticks are coming alive again, and the Tom's are struttin and gobbling. Season does not open until the 27th of April so I will have plenty of time to practice with the new bow and locate birds. Unfortunately, lots of spring chores. I sure hope that I can work them in between shooting, scouting and mushroom hunting.
