Hello, I am about to buy a Hoyt Excel 21" riser and I am unsure as to what length and poundage limb to buy. The limbs I am looking at are the Tradtech Black Max ILF wood glass limbs. I would like a 64 inch overall length bow and I am looking for the poundage to be around 60 pounds. I understand that the limbs are rated for a 17" riser and I would like to know what spec limb to buy. Thanks.

Hello,You'll need medium limbs. To make a 64" bow.Your best bet for getting the weight right would be to call TT.And let them tell you what you need.Good luck hope you enjoy your new bow.
Never trust a bald man with a pony tail.If he's not honest with himself. He wont be honest with you.

Call Trad Tech and ask for John Wert he will set up a bow and check poundage at your draw length.

Easy to calculate for a ball park estimate.

Length of rated riser minus length of new riser equals (17-21= -4).

Since you are going to a longer riser the limbs would have to be rated at 64# on a 17 inch bow to be about 60 to 61# on a 21 inch bow.

2 Barrels is correct medium length would be required for a 64 inch bow.

Hope this helps.

Mediums will get your 64" length right but like everyone said you should make the call so you can get the poundage just right! I have an Excel w/med limbs and this makes a awesome shooting bow, at least for me. Good luck.

They will measure the weight for you at Trad Tech. They did mine and hit it right on the head.

Ok thank you very much for the advice. I think that is what I may do.
