I had slowed down on buying bows and have been trying whittle the group down to the ones I shot best and just liked best.It dawned on me abut a month ago that I had ordered one back in the Summer from Scott Reed at Vintage Works Bows in CO.I had been wanting a reproduction of the '59 Kodiak for some time and of all the pictures I've seen,I liked the looks of the Vintage works best.Beyond that and a few reviews,I new nothing of the bowyer.

Well,it arrived today and I'm glad I fell off the wagon.I expected a nice bow.It is far beyond that.I've owned a lot of bows.None had better workmanship. The gloss finish is flawless with no waves or dips in the surface. The model I chose was actually the '59 Hybrid which has a little more beef in the riser and Scott said it was a little smoother shooting.I flip-flopped about that choice but am very happy now.

The wind is howling outside now but I had to shoot a few arrows.I know I have the brace height too low but still it shot smooth and quiet, dead in the hand and I was hitting better than my last several shooting session with bows I am very used to.

The bow has brown glass on the back and the belly veneer is stained burnt orange with clear glass.I know the '58 didn't have a compass but I asked for it.

I asked for a maple "I" beam and this is what I got,an amazing piece of birdseye with some spalting. The rest of the riser is rosewood.I forget which kind,Honuras?

The tips are flawless and are built for fast flight.

Copper coin.Sorry,I didn't mean for this to sound like an add but I really like this bow and I don't know Scott Reed from Adam.We have only spoken through emails.

Delivery time was just as promised. He hit my weight right on the nose though that wasn't promised. He contacted me right before work started to make sure if I wanted to change any specs.

Very nice!  Been thinking about getting one built myself.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. TGMM ♥

Showing us a beautiful bow like that is not helping me to be reasonable.
