About three years ago, I bought a 64" Kota Prairie Nomad from jwingman. It was my first long bow, and boy could I shoot it!

A year later, a friend talked me into trading for a 62" Whip he had. Nice bow, and I could shoot it very well also, but deep down, I wanted my Kota.

This year, I traded away my 51# Kanati to get a bow for my daughter. I was now without a legal moose hunting bow (the Whip was about 49# at my draw, need 50#.) The Kota, being 52#, was just perfect, plus it is a TD! I made the call to Juneau, and my friend said that he could never get use to the Kota, and sure, he would trade back....yahoo!

So here it is:

Here's a photo from before I traded for the Whip:

Good for you and my hat's off to your friend for trading back to you. I think a lot of us have made trades or sell that we regret later. I know I have. Good on you for getting a your bow back. Best to you hunting with your old bow!

No wonder you wanted her back!  Beautiful bow.

I guess that it was just meant to be!

Really nice bow.

Nice story, I really like the wood combo on that one.  I'd like to own a kota someday, I may duplicate that one.

What's neat about this thread is it shows what is a good fit for one isn't necessarily the same for the next. We all have different tastes in equipment. This is what makes traditional so unique.
