My son, my dad, and I went on our first stumpin' outing yesterday afternoon. The wind was really kickin' here, and although it was 40 degrees out, it felt much colder. As a result, the outing wasn't a long one. However, I was able to snap a couple of pictures with my cell phone. Just thought I'd share some of them...

Ready to go, clad in his coon-skin cap (courtesy of Dennis aka. "adeeden")

Spotted one...

at full draw...

...dead stump!...

one final pose...

Needless to say, we had a great time! I can see why so many of you enjoy stumpin' so much! It provides for some great quality time. Thanks for lookin'!

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

I'm pretty sure he has better form than me. LOL. Seriously awesome pics.  Can't wait to have a little one of my own.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. TGMM ♥

I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback.

Gray Buffalo, we're both lefties and proud of it, for sure!

fireball31, he's definitely got better form than I do...I know that for certain! I think he's been studyin' Terry's "form clock" while I'm at work during the day or somethin'!

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Lee, kinda. They're actually snakeskin-patterned limb covers made by "onestringer".

30pointbuck, I'm hopin that'll be the case!

Great pics, be sure to save them digitally and have some prints made, you don't want to loose those. If you haven't already, it's time to start a photo album. Thanks for sharing.
