In my younger days, I used to mess up and shoot some bigger pigs....but I don't make those kind of errors any longer Marty.

I weigh 300 lbs in these pics....I know I outweigh both of these by a generous margin.

Nice hogs guys. I try to shoot hogs in the 50-100 lb range, better eating and just as much fun to hunt.

Mint, One of the best pics ive ever seen on TG. i love labs, especially yellows

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. TGMM ♥

I agree the pic with the Lab is nice. I also like the Blue boar in the swamp Mint. RC

The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.

This ones about 225. He is laying on my thighs to keep him upright for the pic. This is the largest in weight i have killed to date.

This one was bigger but smarter, he would not let me close enough.

The dog isn't a yellow lab but a Southern Black Mouth Cur. They are great dogs too, friendly to humans but sure love to hunt hogs. He was a bay dog and not a catch dog and it sure was his hog.

Joey, you tell about the   one that  you think took  my soul and I'll tell the one about that kid from 4H,
Besides, can't you kill one unless Marty guides you?

Izzy, Joey can't kill anything but the common black ones. He doesn't realze the trophy quality of the calico hog. Very nice!

I've always said RC can hit the small targets. He's just smart enough to know that they are easy to pack out and they eat better 8-)

I wish Marty would guide me but your always cuddled up with him in the feeder stand named after you.  if I was u, I would hang around RC more and learn how to close the deal with some dirt under my feet.
Aim down your arrow because thats where it's going.

You two fella's are highjacking this thread with your quarrels- I say keep showing pictures cause they are worth a thousand words!!!!

Mint what skin pattern is on the bow in your first pic? Looks nice!

My only big hog. Only 204lbs weighed on the "Dudes" scales. I'm just a rookie pig hunter, but I think that in May, I'll be surronded by a pack of seasoned veterans. Maybe if I sit back and listen, I'll learn alot of valuble information. DB

Nice one, DB!!!!!

I'd also mention that only ONE hog in those photos was treestand hunted- the rest were slipped up on spot and stalk!!

Longbowkid, I'm pretty sure those little hogs on the left of that cooler picture were mine- I am pretty sure you and your brother's hogs were a little bigger than those

Looking forward to your return this year!!! I saw some of your woodcock hunting pics- awesome stuff!

Batman-nice hog, but your make-up is running.

Killing hogs on the ground is fun Ray, my lease down here is not condusive to doing that-talk about thick! Right now there is a carpet of acorns the likes that I haven't seen in years! I've had 2 sets of hunters(friends) down in the last couple weeks and the hogs are so full of acorns that they walk through piles of corn and don't put even their nose to the ground. I had guys wantin to come hunt and told em not to waste their time this year. Maybe they'll dry up in a month, but they were still falling this past weekend! We went to the "go to" the hog method last weekend (four-legged style) and caught some huge ones! One was 380lb with 4 inch teeth! Can't show pic's on this site. 3 weeks ago my son beat the dogs into the palmetto patch and found out a boar hog is nothing to take lightly. He got thrown over the hogs back and it was coming back for more when the dogs turned it. Be careful on a wounded hog fella's! He's got a scar he won't forget on his leg.
