My son turned 5 on friday and I just thought I'd share some pics of him opening his favorite gift...a treasure-box sent in the mail by you guessed it...a tradgang member! My good friend Dennis (aka "adeeden") was more than generous in sending him a box chock full of goodies. There are a lot of pics, so bear with me...

Heres the package just before he tore into it:

Gettin into it:

Some of the goodies:

He was impressed with himself for making such a quality-sounding buck grunt!   :)   :

A coon-skin cap even!

More to come...

...he was intrigued with the rattler skin and the possum jaw:

A hand-crafted necklace with genuine indian arrowhead!

A Cloverdale button, Illinois game button, dove decoy, and an antler:

Dennis was even thoughtful/considerate enough to spend the extra time fashioning a necklace with knapped obsidian points for each of my girls!

From the bottom of my heart, Dennis...THANK YOU!
Because of your generosity and the time that you put into gathering all of these great goodies, this will most certainly be a birthday that he'll never forget. After openening everything up, Gavin asked: "Daddy, when is Mr. Dennis gonna come to our house?" ...hopefully Dennis, if you're ever in my part of the woods, you'll be sure to let me know!
Thanks so much again... you're the kind of member that embodies the spirit of this great website!

Looks like a happy youngster.  Better than video games.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Derek, The smiles say it all! If I ever get over your way I will be sure to visit.

I figure there is enough loud game calls in that box to kep you and your wife amused until spring!

Hopefully they will keep the hunting fire going in him!

Dennis, it sure is amusing to hear him use the calls!

He's really practicing with the squirrel call, as he's really looking forward to huntin' them with me next fall!

I had to laugh when I saw that squirrel call.  Giving a kid one of those is kind of mean to the parents.  I like it.

I got to admit I laughed when I put it in the box! There's a high pitched cow elk call in there to incase he gets bored!

He certainly HAS been using all of the calls, too! I don't mind a bit! I'm thrilled to hear him using them! Now...my wife...well, she's been VERY patient overall, but she did have to ask him to stop when he was using the grunt call in the van while they were on their way to town today!    :biglaugh:
