Like the old Browning Serpentine?

I'd try them if you'd sharpen them for me. No one ever said just because you could patent something that it was effective or would be successful.

Made impressive holes in apples, though. Lousey if bone was struck.

I used the 100 grain model all deer season this year. I killed two deer. The first was 21 yards, double lung, she died in sight 59 yards from my tree stand. The second was a BB at 16 yards--double lung and he died in sight 52 yards from my stand. Blood trails weren't necessary but were immediate and profuse.

My set-up:
LH Recurve (The Stick)46#@26". The arrow was a Beman MFX Classic size 600 with 3, 4" feathers and a 75 grain brass HIT. Total arrow weight was 415 grains.

Just for fun I'm going to go to the MFX 500 size with a 150 grain Helix next season.

No, not like the Sepentine. Looks like a nice single bevel head that coud be VERY sharp!

Looks like a sound design, though I don't like steps or curves in edges - makes them harder to sharpen.

Hey Stumpkiller, maybe dremel tool might work. Its worth a try.

I've only used them one season so far and shot a 250/275# bear. Big Jim Buff about 43#s at my draw weight, 29 yards complete pass thru and about 30 yard recovery?

also killed a concrete wall but I'm afraid there was no recovery

Hit the wall so hard it almost knocked the fletch off...

A little touch up on a stone and a quick run over my ceramics and the Helix was ready to go to work again.

thanks fellers! Nice shootin coaster500!! they must be a pretty tough head to withstand a concrete wall and not roll over. I too wonder how hard they are to sharpen with the steps in the blade?

You have to unwind the arrow when pulling it from a layered foam target - the single bevel concept at work.

I bought a pack, but probably will not use them. The sharpness out of the pack was not immpressive to me. They were basically rough ground (grind marks still in them) and the angle of the bevel was a bit too steep to use with many sharpeners. They did twist into a target for me nicely as mentioned though.
