I draw 30" and am shooting a BW psa 45# at 28". I shoot a carbon express arrow 250 full length with a 50 grain brass insert and 125 grain head. Bare shafted this set up and shoots great. Started with carbon express 150 but found them to be spined to weak.

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow's effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

Steelhead

I like the 2020 on the aluminum if you draw 30 in and shoot 55-58.

CX Heritage 250 with around 200 grains up front cut to 31".50 grain brass insert is good with a 125 or 150grain head.

you shouldn't worry, if your bare shaft/feathered+point/feathered with BH shaft is good.

calculator is only to have a "fair" view of your needs but fine tuning is always needed. Some will be dead on with the calculators but some will need up to 5-10# more or less DS in "real life".

Final "individual" dynamic spine is also a matter of release, of exact drawlenght and exact bow pounds etc...

PEARL DRUMS

62" Fatal Styk, 54# @ 30, I draw 30. I shoot CE Heritage 250, 150 grain points and 3 gr per inch tubes, FF string, standard inserts and nocks. Bow is cut 3/16 beyond center, that matters much.

canadian

I have a 29.5" draw and my Caribow Peragrin longbow is 55 or 57# at that draw.  I shoot Heritage 250's cut to 30.5" with a 100gr brass insert and 150 grain stingers. I also shoot the same arrows out of my Brackenbury Quest drawing 55#@29.5".

64" Toelke whips. One is 54#@28" and the other is 54#@30".  My draw is 30 1/8".  Both are cut to center.  I have the best luck with the Easton Axis 500 spine arrows with the 75gr brass inserts using 145-150gr tips. I use 3-4" long shield cut feathers on these.  I can't remember the overall length off the top of my head but they have only been trimmed 1/4"(probably didn't need to trim them at all).  I also have great luck with the AD Trads(not the lites).  I shoot these full length with 100 gr inserts, 145-200 gr tips, 3-5" shield cut feathers and aluminum nock adapters with the G-nocks.  They don't shoot as flat or fast as the Eastons but they fly straight and hit like a hammer! They're quiet too!
