Down in 25 yards is amazing.  Who needs a blood trail?   ;)

Having said that, you've got more than enough giddyup in that setup to shoot a bigger head.

Congrats on the doe!

I like a four blade 125 gr. vented magnus with a 75 gr. steel insert.  This give me a 200 gr. head on my 2018 shafts for a total arrow weight of 600gr.  I hunted with Bear Razorheads for years and killed a lot of stuff and these are close to them.

I don't mean to be negative, but maybe you need to work on your sharpening. A sharp two blade should make them bleed like crazy from the hits you described. I've had poor blood trails from high lung hits even with sharp broadheads, but with the hits you described there should have been lots of blood.

When they only go 50 yards or less whats the problem with your broadheads, they sound they work just fine.

Not sure what to tell about you broadheads but they seem to be working out quite well for ya...anyway if you are set on trying a multi-blade take a look at the VPA's...they have done quite well for me so far this year.

I just shot a doe with a Abowyer Brown Bear, it was one of the best blood trails I've ever had. I used the ABS sharpening system. It really works well.

Just my 2cents but I talked to my dad last night who shot a doe up in Michigan yesterday morning and he used a magnum I 4 blade which is a huge head.  Shot her right threw the center if the heart she ran about 150 yards with no blood trail. Her chest was full of blood and where she dropped. Sometimes those things happen regardless of head.   Congrats on deer  Nice doe!!  And good shooting. Dino

With  a heart shot I think the blood pressure drops so quickly that less blood gets pumped out. My 8 pt was hit high behind the right shoulder blade and hit the opposite ebow upon exit. Blood was pouring from the entrance wound within 10 feet.

One would think that this would be optimum for pouring blood out of the exit wound. I was using a 160 grain Snuffer that was very sharp. The rear of the heart was sliced open, right lung pretty much bicected. After 40 yards... no blood! I was astonished! The holes were huge!!!

It appears that the different layers of tissue on the exit hole were not lining up except at certain points in the deer's stride.

He went about 125 yards before piling up.

You might try the Simmons heads.  Great blood trails from those heads!!

lots of great BH's out there..with your arrow weight I see no reason why you couldn't use a 3 or 4 blade head. I have been using Razorcaps for the last 4 or 5 years, maybe not the best but they work for me. I would have no problem using Magnus Stingers, Woodsman Elites or Snuffers if I didn't have a bunch of the Razorcaps..plenty of great choices,Magnus has a great warranty. The local bow shop carries the choices I listed above.. Before using Razorcaps I took over 50 deer and hogs with Thunderhead Broadheads, they work for me and I didn't have to sharpen them..just replace the blades..I used Zwicky and Bear Razor Heads along the way too, sharp 2 blade BH's kill but I like the 3 blade hole.

Just looked at the pic and the exit looked to be thru the front leg muscle.  I've hit three deer with very sharp WW's and a wide 2 blade like that.  They went down quick but left little/no blood.  They don't seem to bleed well thru the muscle no matter the b'head.

Good shooting!  Broadheads are really about what you like.  I've been a bit of a broadhead junkie over the years and have shot deer with most of the traditional choices.  They all work. My favorites are the Griz 190 and Snuffer 160. Anymore I just use the Griz 190. I've never lost a deer with either.  Both have given me really good blood trails and not so good blood trails. Nothing is magic.

I would not consider your result bad.  Heart shots and short recoveries are a good thing.  Deer just don't put much blood on the ground when they die that fast. But if you're not happy with your broadheads for whatever reason then just try something else.  They're all good and enjoying your gear is an important part of trad hunting.
