after alot of searching and trying to decide what to get i finally picked one out.i decided to go with a longbow and got a Bear Montana.
really love this bow.got it from Keefers on this site.great guy to deal with, when we left his house,it felt like we had known him for years.iv been shooting every day since, and am starting to get the feel of it.still got a long ways to go but enjoying every minute of it.iv hunted with compounds most of my life but had decided to switch over.cant believe how satisfying a feeling it is to shoot traditional, and for me personally, especially to be using a longbow.

Archery isn't something I do, it's who I am!
The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Outstanding - Montana is a great choice!  Shoot straight!

It is relieving to take a stick to the woods for some reason.

About 25 years ago, I was shooting a compound and thumbed through an archery catalog and there was page after page of releases, bow sights, rests and peeps. Later, I saw a picture of Martin trad bows in Bowhunter magazine and I couldn't sell the compound fast enough. I got a martin recurve and never looked back. Pup

That is an excellent first choice (or second, or third, or thirteenth...).  Hope you enjoy it and make much meat with it or whatever follows!  And a good time was had by all.

A Bear Montana was my first bow as well. Its lightweight, accurate, and plenty fast. Enjoy it.

Ross,
It was my pleasure trying to squeeze so much in a few hrs. of time ...Guys Ross brought a friend over by the name of Zack/Zach. But anyway this young man had never hunted or shot a bow in his life but talk about good form and follow through this dude had it....Ross did pretty good as well for someone who never shot the longbow but with the correct equipment they both will soon be "Brothers of the bow"...Oh and by the way "Happy Birthday Ross" today is his birthday and yesterday was my 47th...That's kind of Cool...     :clapper:
