The Great Jashu

Your posts always hold my interest. Thanks for sharing.
No hunter should feel guilty for killing a deer that doesnt meet someone else's expectations.

Excellent Curt. You're right about always remembering these times together. My own son is out of college and still says "Thanks" whenever we spend time time together in the woods, just as he did when he was little. That goes to show how important what you're doing is to the little guy. Nice two person set-up by the way. Enjoy these good times together and thanks for sharing with us.

Great pics Curt!!!

Ain`t it something how good they sleep the evening after a good days hunting?

My wife says it soothes their soul, and they relax to their very middle.

The "great times ahead" you mention, are going to knock your socks off!!!

You are a good man.  Thanks for sharing your hunt with Cade.  I always enjoy your pics and your posts.  I just wish I could have got my daughter interested in our pursuit.  She likes camping, though, so she is a little bit "outdoorsy".  Keep the pics coming throughout the season.

Awsome!!  It is very great to see the young ones in the woods, growing up with the passion for them.

Heh Guru,
Yes, Mason and I always take a practice shot out of the stand too..... usually a 175gr hammer headed for a skwerl that ventures too close ! So far this year it is skwerls 3 hunters 0 ! If I am not careful Mason will hunt skwerls and forget about the deer. He talked me into shooting a few broadheads last year after he missed with his first two hammers. He almsot had a empty quiver foolin with them old skwerls !

What is Cade's setup ? What bow, arrows, and head ? What size boots is he wearing ? I have Mason's Rocky 800gr boots he wore about 4 times before he outgrew them when he was 8 years old. They are size 7 mens and they are yours if they will fit Cade. I bought them from brother DW's store and I think they were about around $75, so a good boot to keep Cade's feet warm.

Very nice report.  You have certainly sowed the seeds properly to have a lifelong hunting partner and friend.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

There is one pic where it looks like Cade is catching up real fast to being the same height as you...He's in one of those growing spurts I believe..Like always great pics and keep up the good work...God Bless...Keefer's <")))><

That's what it's all about right there...those are some priceless memories.  I know when I think about when I first started bowhunting with my Dad, it takes me back and puts a smile on my face.

Take your son hunting and you won't be hunting for your son.
I've heard it said that Christianity is a crutch.  To me, it's a walking stick to use on the path of life.

Guru

One of the first times he was in the woods with me.

I told him here's the deal...you can come, but you have to walk all by yourself the whole time....

As you can see, he didn't hold up his end of the deal...but I wouldn't have had it any other way...
