Hi all! I've really enjoyed checking out all of your bows, so on a rainy night when I couldn't shoot, thought I'd share some pics of my 1st custom bow (I am a beginner & have been shootin some older, used bows till now). I can't tell you all how tickled I am with it! It was made by Tim Duvall of Dry Ridge Archery and is a 68" R/D 40# @ my 30in draw (thought I'd go light so I could work on my form). Bocote/cocobolo riser with bocote limb veneers, 'bolo tips, wedges, and wedge overlays.  Tim is an awesome guy to deal with, and offers a fanatastic bow...especially for the money! I'm thrilled with the asthetics of it, but am even more thrilled with how it shoots! I'm really having a great time with it. Thanks Tim!

I notice that most of you guys refer to your bows as "her"...never quite got it before receiving this beauty! Do you think our bows have feelings? Maybe "she" will be hurt that I've been referring to her as "it"? Think maybe I should come up with a name too...         :D

Anyway, here they are (hopefully the pics do it, I mean, her, some justice...

Congrats, she's a beauty...you always remember your first...lol

Yep mine are all girls and their names just come to me, usually related to something about how they look, wood color, figure, etc.

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow's effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

Wow! What an awesome bow! You did very well on your first custom. Love the Bocote, it's one of my favorite woods. Congrats!

P.S.--The rule is that anything that gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, can, and should be,  called her/she. Bows, cars, motorcycles, your favorite flyrod, etc.. but especially bows. Lol!

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Nice to get a bow made for you that you are comfortable with. Very nice bow.

I like it! The shelfs even on the right side.

Beautiful bow and you are wise to start light.
A lot of folks overbow from the start.
Good luck and good hunting!
God bless.
