Gun

I just came in from my morning hunt and was going to log on and find the number for the canadian distributor that I sent my old 8x30's to for some repairs. The phone rang while I was doing this and it was them.

Initially they need new eye cups as one was very badly cracked and the swivel needed tightening. I hoped they would give them a good cleaning too. I got a call after two weeks telling me that they needed a lot of work as one cylinder was leaking (?) and that they would replace them with a new pair for $300 or they would fix what they could and send them back as is, no charge. I told them just to do what they could as I couldn't afford new ones right then as I've been unemployed. I told a hunting buddy of mine and he offered to borrow me the cash to get the new ones but I declined.

Anyway the guy on the phone told me that Zwarovski had rebuilt my binoculars free of charge after he told them of my situation and they were as good as new and would be in the mail today! I've sure missed them. I have a pair of old Bushnells that I've been using since.

I swent Zwarovski a thank you note saying that I will be a loyal customer for any future optic needs.  Just thought I would post a message praising a company that still cares about its reputation and customers.

I'll understand if this gets moved or deleted. It's directly related to bowhunting as far as I'm concerned because I would sooner forget my bow than my binocs for an outing!
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

That's good info and customer service.
I'm going to have to send mine in also after this season for cleaning and repairs.

Heh Gun, how was the Moose hunting?

Yes they do and another great binoc company is Vortex, I have a set of them that is just unreal and lifetime warranty. If a person just cannot afford the Swaros they might check out the Vortex Diamondbacks or Razors. God Bless you, Steve

My 8X30 Swarovski's center dial broke after about 10-15 years of hard use. Sent them in and about 2 weeks later I had a brand new pair! Great customer service and a great pair of hunting binoculars.

I bought my 8x30's in 1996. sent them back after 6 years to fix a ripped piece of armour(my fault) and get a set of rubber eye cups instead of the telescopic originals. 2 weeks I got them back ship shape. NO Charge. Wish I could find my telescopic cups but oh well. The  best money I ever spen on hunting gear. Glad you are happy your set.

I have two pair of Swarovskis. In the last year I sent both in and they repaired both free of charge. They are about 25 years old and still work great. Gary

I've had my 8X30 Zwarovskis for about 10 years now. Great optics, I wouldn't go to the woods without them.

A couple years ago they came up missing for about 3 months. I was sure they had been stolen out of my truck. I laid away a new pair, sixteen hundred smackers, twice what I'd paid for the first pair. Well of coarse then they turned up in a little compartment under the back seat of my truck where I had put them for safe keeping...

I got my deposit back on the new pair....maybe I should have got them anyway, you know what they say, "If you like something, get two of them"...   :biglaugh:

This is a real question: I have had a similar great experience with a pair of 8 x 30 that they did for free.  NOW, I am in possession of a pair of 10 x 42 that I got (quite sadly) from the wife of my recently passed on hunting partner. Does anyone know whether Swarovski will refurbish (free) these glasses for me even though I was not the original owner?

2wfstlhunting,
I would try. I'd send them in and I wouldnt say I was the original buyer but I wouldnt say I wasnt either just looking to get them fixed.

Good job Gun, you will have them for the rut!

Glad for you, Gun.  It's always nice to hear of such great customer services.  But then one cannot expect any less from a top end co. like Zwarovski, or Zeiss and Leupold.  They will last you a lifetime with care.  Enjoy, and good hunting.

Hey, I like Zwarovski as well. I live in Germany and work in a military Rod&Gun club for the U.S. Army. We sell Zwarovski as a dealer. Perhaps we could arrange mailing a few to the States? You could e-mail me at hooligan47@hotmail.com. I don't know what I can do, but at least we can support some brothers of the forest...

I recently lost one of the rubber eye pieces form my slc 10x42.  Called Swarovski, told them i'd like to purchase one of the pieces.  The lady on the phone took my information, told me that they will be shipped as soon as we were off the phone.  When I asked about what I owed, she said no charge.  I told her it was my fault, I'd have no problem paying, she said again, no charge.  In a day and a half I had two eyepieces waiting for me in the mailbox.  They may cost a lot of money, but I'll never buy anything else but Swaro binoculars.

When I bought mine a long time ago I thought they were a lot of money then. I had to put them on layaway and make payments. I have never been sorry I did that. They have always been first class. Gary

I finally got my swaros last fall and I love them and what a great co. to deal with. I cant go into the woods without mine. I hope they last me for the rest of my life.

I picked up a pair of 8x42'SLC's from a guy on Tradgang.com and am very impressed.  I located a bedded buck in a corn field last week with these that I never would have picked out with my old binoculars.
