Here is the new tent Art bought from Whip. Early archery season in upstate New York this past weekend. We had wind ,rain, rain and cool weather and it kept us warm and dry !  :campfire:    The little cylinder stove is a must have. Here Art and Larry are trying to figure out where all the deer are hiding   :dunno:

I have a panther trapper that looks like that you can heat it with a couple candles

Very nice!  What size tent and fly did he get.  How many of you slept in his tent?

It's the 12x12x9. We slept three of us on cots but thats pretty snug when using the center pole. The good thing is I could refill the stove without getting off my cot. The fly is just and old canvas tent cut apart but worked fine. Now if Art will just let me borrow the tent for my elk hunt ......

I started using the outside pole method it sure gives you lot more room.

Saw seven of these while hunting. Didn't want to shorten a good hunt by shooting a deer. Something about those mountains keeps calling me.

Now that's a sweet looking tent there.

I think we are going to try the two pole outside set up. Do you use your fly with just the fly hole on the tent holding the pole ?

please tell me  what is a cylinder stove?

Cool!  My favorite kind of camp!    :goldtooth:

Glad to see the tent worked out well.  Sure is nice in wet weather like that to be able to get inside and stoke up the woodburner.

opps29, the Cylinder Stoves are a brand name of a woodburner made for use in canvas tents.  There is a page for them on my website that shows pictures.

I found via a visiting friend from Sweden; that if you place a large rock on the woodstove; it will heat up and keep you warm until the morning hunt.

I am a tent freak.    :archer2:

That camp is calling my name. It's amazing being out in mother nature.

St. Judes - $100k for 2010 - WE DID IT!!!!

A couple of years ago Whip was kind enough to bring a tent for Robtattoo, Steve Tottingham, and me to use on a West Texas pig hunt with Gene and Barry. We had some really high winds- one episode blew a good sized camping trailer around 180 degrees. Our tent- similar to yours- and Whip's larger model were rock steady. Great tent, great guy to deal with. I'm sure you'll get great service and make some great memories. Congrats-  GY
