can you twist a string to much, if so what happens?
I have been blessed, beyond measure.

It'll bunch up when you take off the pressure. More bunching than the norm. And when relaxed it'll get kinks.

Anything that gets twisted too much becomes brittle and subject to breakage. When it twists up on itself when unstrung it is way too many twists and you are getting close to dry fire conditions with further use.
Strings are not that expensive, make sure they fit properly.

Yes I think you can get too many twists, acts like a coil springy. And I think you will loose performance, time for a new string.
