Why.......Oh Why.......do I have to live 3000 miles away. It would be worth the trip just for the "eductaion" on hunting them critters.

I'd simply LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to do a hunt like that someday.

If you boys only knew. This dude was raised with elk. Larry, I have a friend who lives in Oregon east not far from Snake River area. He has elk in his backyard in the mtns but I'll ask him. Another who lives in California. BTW, what altitude? How much for out of state license? Thought you & dedsertdude were going this year?

I wish I didn't work weekends.   :banghead:    :banghead:    :banghead:     I would be there in a couple hours. I need to find a mentor for elk cause they are kicking my butt.   :banghead:    :banghead:    :banghead:

I would take you up on that offer but I never bought an Or. license this year.
I usually go down there every year but Oregon raised their rates and I decided to skip a year.
I believe that you needed to buy license and tag before the season opened.

Thanks anyway.

John

PAPA BEAR

yep..you have to buy by midnight of the day before season.its over 500 bucks now for out of state license and elk tag.another 325.00 just for a deer tag i believe.i got to the point of being flat broke because my woman lost her income and all of the bills plus her car payment was up to me to pay.i will be bringing joed and desert dude out next year.i gave em an elk hunt and thats what they'll get.i'm moving back across the bridge i think.got a new job lined up.altitude is between 5600 and 7000 depending on where we hunt.

I for one can't make it; but, I certainly hope someone realizes what a gem of an opportunity you are offering who also has the time and means to take you up on it...

I am touched by the willingness, regardless of the circumstance, of a hunter to show another fellow hunter his/her secrets. Bravo, friend!
