What a trip!!! All 6 of us killed bucks, so for 4 yrs straight, we're 100%!!! Plus, everyone got at least one doe, and I got 2!!!

Bear with me, here's alot of pics!!!

We got into camp on Aug 13, so we had all day the 14th to scout out a good spot and lay claim to a stand....Openin morning was on the 15th. Had a good safe trip out, no snags to speak of, thankfully!!!

I hunted my same spot, Stand #6...It's been good to me in the past, and glad I picked it again!!

Here's a bit of scenery from the stand!!!

My first customer of the day at the waterhole, was a nice muley buck, with aweeeesome potential!!!

Then, a bit later, a nice younger antelope buck, passed on at 20 yds!!!

Opening day was COLD for Wyoming...upper 40's on our drive in, and only topped out in the low 70's. Unseasonably cool for mid august, and not good for making speedgoats thirsty!!!

So, when you set on stand from daylight to dark, shooting time started around 0530, and ended at around 830pm, you take pics of anything you see...lol

Oh wait....Let me back up a bit....Here's what the tower stands look like...Most are up around 12-14 feet, with 6' tall boards on the south and west sides for cover and shade....You'd think you would stick out like a sore thumb, but they really do work!!!

Here are a couple of Buffalo Circles...Back when there were Buffalo, and wolves, and any other threats to the herd, the strong, healthy Buff's would get the older, younger, sick and weak buffs into the center, and plod in a circle!!! These rings are scattered all across any part of the land that has gone untouched since those times!!!

One ridge out on the Plains holds alot of petrified wood! This piece probably close to 30" long, and will have to come home with me next year, for a pedestal mount!!!

For those that have never ventured out west, this is Snow Fence...Probably close to 8' tall, and can run for miles along the roadside.

Rumor has it there might be some horses out that way....

Another blind, a pit blind, to the left of the windmill. The bigger wooden structure is a wind break for cattle to get in when the breeze picks up!

Oh yea, I spose ya'll are lookin for dead goat pics....All I have are mine at this point, but will get the rest soon, hopefully.

I shot a doe at around 7pm, openin day...Right under me, at about 12yds. I figured the show was about over for the day, and had to let one rip!!!

Even with the commotion of her running off bleeding...There were still goats in my valley, all around. Several shooter bucks, smaller bucks, does and fawns. I would guess upwards of 40 or 50, all within a mile or so. Yea, you can see a ways out there.

Somewhere around 730, a buck was making his way to the waterhole. I glassed him hard, and didn't think I would shoot, but he temped me too long, when he came on in...

And when he got to about 23 yds, I had to give him a try!!! Glad I did. He's my best in 4 years of chasing the speedgoats. Border line Pope and Young, real good mass and cutters, if he has enough length. Either way, he'll be on me wall!!! Ivory tips as well. He ran about 100 yds, piled up, got up, and piled up for good after another 50. The Magnus Snuffers work!!!
