Just curious what length recurve are you all shooting hunting from the ground?

Also how tall are you and draw length please.

I am asking cause I have never shot a recurve over 58 inches in thought of gained manueverability versus not as a forgiving bow.  Would a 60 incher make a big difference or not so much?

Thanks,
Andrew

I like 56-58" bows. I draw 27" and from all my ambush locations, these lengths are perfect. I also like my 50" Browning Cobra for spring turkey hunting but prefer the above lengths.

I always liked a 58" bow. That being said when I started shooting longbows they were all longer and I really didn't have a problem with them. I now kinda like some of he longer ones, 60-64' recurves and seem to not have an issue with the length!

I used to like shorter bows, but now I like a little longer ones.  I also went from 28" to 29 1/2" draw.  Now I like 58" and 60" curves, and 60" -62" hybrids if they are designed to draw to 30" or better at those lengths.  I guess that puts me on the line between choices on the survey.

Do you guys think the difference between 60 and 58 will be minimal?

I never hunt with a bow shorter than 60" and prefer longer. The only downside is a longer bow doesn't allow you to comfortably shoot sitting right on your butt. However I prefer the forgivness and sweet feel of the longer bows and work it out.

I normaly shoot 60" bows but I just bought a new 54" recurve thats I think is going to be a great bow to hunt with. I have a 27" draw. I dont think you will notice much going from 58-60. I had a set of 56" limbs for my 60" bow and that was very noticable when it came to manuvering it around in the brush.

I'm 6', draw 28", and I'll be shooting a 62" recurve this year.  I don't sit an a tree stand so the length is not really an issue for me.

I'm 5'6" with a 27" draw.  For a hunting recurve, I like a 58 bow.  I shot a 60" KS for quite a while, but the 58" feels better to me.

I'm 6' with a 28" draw and my recurve is 60".  It's been working well for me, sitting and standing.

I am 5'8" draw 28" and love my 58" Holm Made River Runner.

Although, I have shot both shorter and longer, 60" is my choice for stability, smoothness and less finger pinch; plus the bowquiver feels better and the nocks don't end up in the dirt when leaning the bow against a tree. I'm 5-9 and draw 27.5". Shoot 60" Bear TD, and one piece recurves, mostly older Kodiaks (1955 - 1969), and all are 60".

60" [ Schafer and Kwyk Styk] seem to work the best for me with my 28 1/2" draw lenght.  However, my Morrison Mini ILF with "long" R/C limbs making a 58" bow is the exception... the short riser and those long limbs sure make a smooth drawing bow.
