Not what you think !  ;)
I posted one of my wolf encounters to the 'super natural' thread which reminded me of this wolf track casting I acquired several years ago.
I also know that when someone relates a story about wolves, it's often disregarded as just being coyotes or "brush wolves" as the old timers called them. I've encountered both, and in our area they often do have similar coloring, but otherwise couldn't be more different !

Anyway, below is a casting of a northern MN wolf track which was found in an older couples' yard in 1993, and they promptly cast it, and gave a few to a family member.
This would be about 15 miles north of the spot I related my story. Not much of a drive north to the international border from there.
The track is apprx. 4" x 6".    :scared:

I can only imagine what this creature must have looked like gliding through the brush, or chasing down a herd on the frozen river.  I bet his legs were longer than the deers !
Just to give it a little perspective, here's my mitt next to it size 13ring, 6'2" 250 XL/XXL glove.
(sorry no time for manicure!)

I gotta say, the pictures don't do it justice. It's truly awe inspiring, the size of this thing.
Just take out your tape measure, run it out to 6" and put it under your dog's paw. That oughta do it !   ;)
In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher'.
