Going to POW, to hunt blacktails!
Never been to Alaska, and I hope this isn't my last trip!
This will be my first wilderness hunt since 2001 when I spent 3weeks alone in Montana, elk hunting
We are packing into the alpine for 6-7nights. Hopefully all the running/training I did this summer was enough!!!

Are you getting a bear tag?  Heck I dont even know if bears are open this early LOL....might be something to look at if they are being you can then have the option of a bear OR a deer on that same tag.

Good luck man! I was blessed to be able to live in AK for three years and loved it. Unfortunately, my wife didn't.
I would love to go back sometime with my son who was born in Anchorage.
Looking forward to hearing about it.

The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.
