Take a look at my mid life crisis vehicle/new hunting rig.  Now all I have to figure out is where to put my recurve.  I am thinking of attaching bungee cords across the roll bars and securing my bow to the underneath side of the top.  I think that will work fine.  I am open to suggestions if someone else has experience hunting out of jeeps and shoots 62" bows.

Well the first thing is the back seat has to go. That gives you a lot more room for your stuff. I lean my passenger seat back and my bow rides there with no problem. My jeep is a one man vehicle for me from Oct 1st till Jan 31st. Did you do your own camo,, looks sharp.

I hope that my wife will let me have a mid-life crisis like that. I know nothing about how to keep a bow protected, but maybe some day I will find out.

Sweet looking ride.  I may have to get one, my teen age daughters would be horrified.  Definately a drive em to school and drop them off rig.  Of course full of hunting gear and then a deer in the back when you pick them up.

That's awesome Scott!

I'm a Jeep man myself, but mine's an older Cherokee so I can't help you with the bow.

Will it be for storing the bow or for getting at real quick??

Definatly a nice ride!!  Is the camo painted on or is it a big sticker/wrap??  I can just picture my Jeep all cammied up like that.  Very cool!!

I would suggest a new shorter mid life crisis bow to go with the new jeep myself!  ;)    :D  Dipped in matching camo of course.
Nice ride!

You know I have never cared for camo vehicles. But for some reason that pattern on the jeep looks real good.

It's not a Jeep, but with the Kolpin-type adjustable, rotating rack "gun" mounts I'm able to carry a couple of recurves safely (one front, one rear).  Maybe you could mount those somewhere...

(Incidently, the electric cart is a stealthy way to get to your stand quietly if the property warrants it.)

Wow!!! even all camoed up that looks better than my Wrangler. Of course mine is driven daily and has that dirt/road film camo over black look.

You can one of the older "bolt on" gun racks for 4wheeler handlebars In the rear floorboard.  You position it to hold the bow in between the front seats and running toward the rear window.  The rear must be just above top of the seat and the front just behind the shifter.  You have to build a bracket to hold the gun rack about 12" from the floorboard.

Cool thing is that most of those gun racks are doubles and it will hold 2 bows side by side.

Nice Jeep Scott! Maybe some 6"PVC schedule,40 tubes painted camo and cut to the length you want, with threaded end caps. Just bolt a couple on top of the roll bar long ways and you could take a bud hunting with you.

Hang a 3 gun gun rack on the side and you can string your bow and hang it from the string.....stabow

Thanks guys, I will figure something out.  Yep I did the camo job myself.  Just printed the material and did it in the garage.  It only took 2 evenings and a morning.  The back seat will definately be out most of deer season.

I will look into the gun rack idea, that just might work.

Oh and I forgot to mention the Grim Reaper upgraded from a scythe to a Black Widow.

Scott,

I am working on a rack for my Jeep...going to find a way to clamp a metal bracket to the roll going right down the center of the jeep...the bracket will have holes drilled in it so I can bolt some gun mounts to it...I found some nice gun mounts from a company call T & W machine...this will allow me to adjust the mounts to particular bows...just wait for my buddy to clear out some of this jobs so we can figure out how low it will need to hang to accommodate recurves and longbows.

This is probably as clear as mud. If you want to talk PM me your number. I have been modifying my Jeep for years and have figured out some of the need vs. nice to have items.

Ok, this is a bit weird.  In February, I bought

and ALSO called it my mid life crisis!

As far as bow storage, my 62" longbow fits fine with the rear seat pulled.

I had the top off until this week, but this heat is just silly.  Hard top back on and AC pumping!
