Howdy all, this popped into my head the day while I was working on my wooden pyramid bow. I was wondering if anyone made or if a company that has made a pyramid bow made from modern materials? Meaning glasses and laminates of coarse.

Dave Bowers

I guess not? I thought I was reaching when I thought of this...oh well?

Dave...  Actually, it has been a planned project of mine for about the last six months.  Problem is, i keep coming up with something I want to build more immediately.   I did build a kind of "modern version", i.e. glassed, of the old 50's self-longbows...  one lam of cherry with a cherry riser... very slight string follow, probably about as much as the originals had at first stringing, before they took their set.   It came out nicely and is a honey to shoot.  I like the pyramid shape and hope i can do as well with one of those... maybe about three or four bows down the line, as I'm experimenting with forward riser longbows and kid bows right now.   If you want to talk about the idea, email me direct at:

"It ain't how well the bow you shoot shoots, it's how well you shoot the bow you shoot."

Hey thanks for the reply Dick. I really like the pyramid bow and think it would be a really sweet project. Only thing is I haven't done any lam bows yet...yet.

I'll shoot you an email in the future; hopefully by then I'll be making laminate bows   :D
