Longbows for me mild r/d or wild r/d.  Just curious, if a longbow with a recurve handle is really a recurve then, is a recurve with a longbow handle really a longbow?
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

shirly ya jest.  :D

to each their own, but imho it's a "longbow" if the string only touches the limb nocks.  grips are grips and can be of any size or shape or whatever.  ditto for the limb cores, dimensions and shapes!

with 285 votes tallied, it looks like an average of 60% longbow and 40% recurve, with an even 50/50 between 1pc and t/d.

Started with recurves.
Tried a longbow..liked it.
Still shooting longbows.

Tigershark

57Lb predator recurve with a impact riser. I find this good all round hunting bow.  :)

And I didn't see "American Flatbow" listed as a choice.    :biglaugh:

My go to bow, pretty much since I got it, is a three piece take down radical reflex longbow, hybrid,recurve...anyone who owns an RER LXR will understand what I am talking about

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Echo62

Recurve for me. Just shoot them better. Could be because that is what I grew up shooting. Have tried longbows, but keep coming back to the recurve. My go to bow these days is a Howatt Hunter.    :archer2:   It may be 49 years old, but it still shoots better than I can.

A standard glass model Osage and Cocobolo Centaur has been my "go to" for years now.

shoot straight shoot often

bruinman

Love my longbows, but if I could only have one it would be my 56" Bruin one piece recurve.

I am thinking....The end results change depending upon your current stable.

If everyone found that one bow that fits these criteria and stuck with that one bow, the bow makers would go broke. I have ten of them and they are all different in one or more ways.  The must make the shot criteria, in the end, is always more up to me than the bow.

m midd

64" 63# Great Northern Critter Gitter. It has been my hunting bow for 7 years now. I cant miss with it unless im shooting at a 5x6 Bull elk at 25 yds
