Since I have two Blacktail take down recurves, my 37# Blacktail TD recurve is my preferred choice.

the "aggressive r/d, reflexed limb tips (think: MOAB)" are recurves in my opinion. MOAB is a great bow but if the limbs are REcurved then they're "recurves!" IMOHO!    :bigsmyl:  Some of these bows even have recurve grips etc. I like them all however!   :D

most folks call it a 'longbow' if only the string loops touch the limb nocks, irregardless of the braced limb curve .... to each their own!  :D

As I practice it is looking like Bear TD Supreme, A handle at 48 #'s or Predator Anniversary at 48 #'s. I own only 1 longbow but I don't shoot it.

True, I know the "traditional" definition over here but it's not one I subscribe too. I prefer the one they use in many of the European tourneys where the longbow in this case has to maintain a continuous "D" shape when strung and not be cut to center. Of course, they don't even call them "longbows" over there but "American Flatbows" if they even have a shelf, but I'm fine with "longbow" over here. There are some "hybrids/longbows" where you have to dang near strain your eyes to tell it's not a recurve! I'm fine though if no one here shares my definition-it really is just an opinion/preference. I think I'm just tired of "look at my new longbow" posts and seeing a Bob Lee "longbow" or something similar. Again, GREAT bows-they just don't give ME the feeling of a longbow that I seek when I shoot one. I don't call a sports car a sports car if it doesn't have a stick. Some do. Peace!
I think one of my favorite quotes on this subject was the guy (whose name I wish I could remember) who said: "Hybrids are for people who want to say they shoot a longbow without ever having to shoot a longbow!" May not be entirely true-but funny!  :D

I don't think they are recurves...I think they are hybrids. Not hybrid longbows...Hybrids.

Now that I own a couple of Mohawks, my recurve just seems to gather dust.
