That's from Cade, thanx to good friend Terry Receveur "Indianabowman"

This was a couple years in the making. At the JLMBH 2 winters ago, Terry invited us to join him "whenever".

Well for some reason I couldn't bring myself to go without Cade(I wanted him to be ready to shoot). So I waited....

A couple weeks ago, as many have read, I couldn't hold him back anymore...he became an "official bowfisherman"!

His equipment is still a little heavy for him, and getting the barb into the fish is still a problem. It's a struggle between poundage and draw length(and of course the urge to snap shoot)...but boy is he having fun!

So anyway, when I got a hold of Terry about a week ago about coming up, he went "above and beyond" and set us up to go out with his buddy Bob. Captain of "Carp-a-geddon".....(Terry's got good pix of the boat I believe)

We got to the boat landing a little early, Cade was excited beyond belief...so was I!

•

Soon enough this awesome rig showed up. It would be Terry, Terry's son Tyler, Capt. Bob, Cade, and myself.

Cade had some great guidance. Capt. Bob and Terry are both way more experienced than me with this type of bowfishing. Both were very eager to help him in any way possible.

The action quickly heated up!

I gotta go mow my lawn and then pick up my pooch at the groomer....so Terry please take over buddy....Like Arnold said...."I'll be back"....

I hear Bill Dunn has a bowfishing bow. Cade should've borrowed that. Knowing Bill, I'm sure it was several pounds lighter than Cade was shooting  :bigsmyl:  That is a BIG scale from a BIG fish. This could get good.

Come on Curt, cut your grass tommorow.WE want details.g

We set up the time to meet at the boat ramp at 8:30 PM. After a phone conversation with Curt and the statement that they would be heading for the ramp at 6:30 PM. I knew they would have an early arrival. My son Tyler and I decided to leave a little early and meet up with Bob so we could arrive a early as well. Sure enough about 8:10 PM I get a call that they are at the ramp.  I think Curt did a fantastic job reigning Cade in that much.  We were only 5 minutes away.  We pulled down to the ramp and there is Curt and Cade sitting on the bed of their truck waiting to go.  We pulled over to the ramp and along came Cade. It only took a minute for Cade to climb aboard Carp-ageddon! We took a couple quick photos and loaded up the boat.  However, there was one last thing we had to do before we launched for the night. The "Carp Jig" had to be performed to call all the carp.  Tyler, Cade, Curt, and I all lined up and did a quick "Sprinkler" move, followed by the "Swim", and finished off with a dying carp quiver whoop, whoop, hip shimmy!  I will say that Curt was very kind and did not record the "Jig" for posterities sake. Thank goodness. Seeing a fat, balding, old guy doing the "Carp Jig" is not a pretty sight. However, it worked like magic!

Something like that would be a great way to make money for charity of course, I am sure there are many who would pay to see that.

Glad you had a good time.

"The carp jig"....how could I forget to mention that!  Terry lightened things up for Cade right off with that one.  You should have seen the smile on his face...priceless!

Give me a bit and I'll be back with more pix and stories.

Hey Terry, Please re-size your pix bud no wider than 640 pixels, or else I'll get in trouble with my other friend Terry     :biglaugh:      :dunno:

Cool stuff! I used to use modified broadheads on my boys fish arrows until he got big enough to hit em harder.

Didn't Arnold say, "I'll be bach."
