Scouting for Elk - Pics!

I have been swamped lately so have not had a chance to post these pics.  I drew a rather good elk tag this year and went up on Memorial weekend for a little scouting.

Ran into these guys.  The biggest one there is pretty darn nice already and still had 3 months of growing time left!

Hope I can find him again when the time comes

I had my new Ambush recurve from Two Tracks in hand, what a shooter it turned out to be!

Thanks Shinken!  I actually traded for it many years ago.  I had a little gps unit for sale and "Carbon Caster" ( a fellow TG'r) offered to make me the combo in trade.  He did a fantastic job and it has never failed me.

As for the hat, it was given to me by my father, and has lots of stories in it.  Killed my first deer wearing it, and plan on having it along with me again this year.

I now draw almost 29 as I have been working on my form a little.  Chuck says he pulls his personal Ambush to 30!!!  

No trail cam pics here, my wife took those from a bout 400 yds away with her new SLR camera.

thanks for the pics Jake, hope you can put the "Ambush" on one of those nice elk in a few months. It's about 100 degrees here in north TX today, but your photos sure help remind me that my favorite time of the year is only three months away.
