I have been bear hunting for 6 weeks now and tonight I finally put an arrow through one. It's not a giant but to make a kill with equiptment I at first never thought I would master is a great feeling. I'm heading back in the woods with a couple of trad buddies to take up the trail. I could hear 4 death moans at about 50 yds so I'm feeling good about the recovery. Will keep you posted.... >>>> RAY

Here it is. I left work an hour early and headed in to my stand. My barrel was empty so I rebaited and climbed to my stand. I knocked a 29.25" 2018 tipped with a 150gr 4 blade stinger and settled in. The black flies and mosquitos were kept out except for the odd one that would get under my head net. At 8:30 this guy walked out. I watched it for 15 minutes before it gave me a good slightly quartering away shot. I pulled my 60" @ 48# PSA to anchor and watched my fletching disappear behind its shoulder. After about 30 seconds I could hear  the death moan about 50 yds away. I went home to load the bike and called a couple of trad friends. We went back in with coleman lanterns to take up the blood trail. There was little blood on the 40 - 50 yd trail. We found my arrow 15 yds from the bait. All most a complete pass through.
