What do you use and why. I have alwas shot with a glove, but got a tab today and I can't belaeave my groups got way tighter with it. I was shooting 4-6 inch groupd back at 20yrds now I'm hitting arrows at 20yrds.

Howard hill glove. i shoot with a glove cause i cant shoot with a tab lol  :)

Night Wing

I've been using a tab for 46 years. A tab has always given me a cleaner release than with a glove. Groups were always tighter too than with a glove.

I use a super glove from Alaska Bowhunting Supply. It gives me a very smooth release. Like Shawn Rackley, I can't shoot very good with a tab either   "[dntthnk]"

I've been kicken around that idea of trying a tab, just haven't did it yet. What tab you using? and what length of bow did you try it on? longbow? or recurve?

Thanks, might give it a try

mookie

I've tried a tab but the glove being on my hand and ready is just to easy.

I shoot tab now.
I used to swear I never, and then I picked one up last summer and did some experimentation with. I found that once I adapted from that "awkward" feeling that I began getting tighter groups
Before long I was designing my own style and shooting and hunting with my own tabs. With practice, It's easier than you would think to adapt to quickly nocking and shooting with it.
Afew months ago a friend gave me a Super Mitt, and I really like the feel of it. Gonna stick with it this fall. I still shoot glove from time to time, but I feel that the tab is more forgiving of a sloppy release under pressure( not that I'm excusing bad shooting form lol).

My thoughts.

Damascus glove, I also like the locked and loaded filling and I know I have my fingers on the string the way I want them.

For hunting I much prefer a tab-it can just be flipped up out of the way for a quick whatever you need fingers for. And no finger pinch from the string either.

Cherry Tree

I use tab i get a better release i did shoot a glove for along time but then i tried a tab and i new it was going to stay that way.

I just went back to a tab this spring. I was shooting with my son and had left the glove at home. I get a much bettter release, we will see how it goes this fall.

bowslinger

I shot a tab for years shooting fingers compound, but since switching to traditional,  I shoot a glove much better.  I have tried three different tabs with with my traditional bows (four recurves and three longbows) and I keep going back to a glove.

I prefer a cordovan finger tip glove for heavier draw weights (60# and higher) or a 3Rivers brand Duraglove or a Seal Skin glove (Alaska Bowhunter's Supply) for lighter-weight bows.  The Duraglove will last longer than the seal skin, but the seal skin is extremely comfortable in my opinion.  All three offer clean releases, but the cordovan and Duraglove seem to me to be a little "slicker" on the release.

I shoot cordovan tabs that I make, been using tabs for 48 years.Never could get a good release with a glove.

Cordovan tabs make it feel more natural to me, try them both, and find out which one you like.

It used to be I couldn't see much of a difference between a tab and a Neet glove. The glove was more "natural", so I used that. Then my shooting became erratic- I finally figure out my glove was worn out.
Then I saw Rod Jenkin's discussion of this on MBB vol 1, talking about how with a glove he was always either breaking it in or wearing it out, and a Cavalier Elite tab was much better.
And it is! I've since tried a DuraGlove, but it's just not as consistent for me as the Cav Elite.

I switched to a tab this spring, I am the only guy out of our group that shoots with one, I just like the feel on the string and the smooth release I get! Now as to hunting this fall with a tab the jury is still out! But I love the tab for target shooting!
