I just received a beautiful Brackenbury Old Timer a few weeks ago and while it's as light as a feather 58" longbow I am amazed at it's speed and cast!  I own a Brackenbury Shadow and it doesn't come close to this bow in performance.  It's only 74# at my 27" draw length but it shoots like a fast little toy.  Now that I'm pushing 60 really hard it was nice to get a lighter bow that can still perform with the ones I'm used to shooting.

Frank,
I am looking at all the numbers in your topic
here and to be honest it has me scratching my head.

 Are they all correct????

"Only 74#" you must be shooting some heavy bows if that is light for you.

I guess I laid out the wrong impression.  It really isn't about me but rather the Old Timer Longbow.  I had never heard of one until I bought this one.  My sons HH Wesley Special at 80#@27" shoots a heavy arrow like lasers but this little bow weighs half as much and spits the same arrow out just as good.  I'm not a speed freak because I never was a compound guy but when you can see the difference it's pretty amazing.
Yes, I have always shot moderate weight bows because I could.  While I'm a little guy I've been blessed with good health and strength yet I know all things must end and this little bow seems like a great step in that direction.
Hunter by my choice...Pastor by Gods.
