I am ready to move up to a new bow. Bob lee and black widow are the two that I am considering. I am wondering which is the better bow in your opinion. I have a 31.5 inch draw so I would like a long bow Bob lee mahes a 62 in Black widow stops at 62 I need help with the desision

acadian archer

try one out if you can. opinions don't matter in this case.

the widow shooters will preach their own as will the Lee.

both good bows and you should try one firdt.

Raging Water

It is like Ginger or Maryanne. No wrong choice. Gilligan will be happy either way.

The Black Widow PMA goes to 64". You might do the try before you buy.

The best bow is the one that feels the best and you can't keep your hands off because its so good looking. Hmmm goes for a lot of things.

I shoot a 60" PSA and a 62" PMA and have a 31" draw length. Both feel smooth to me.

Haven't shot a Bob Lee so I can't speak to them, but I'm sure they are good bows also.

I've had a few Bob Lee bows both recurve and longbow good shooters but were very noisy to me it really took alot to quiet them down. And I have tried new and used, but like acadian archer said get your hands on some bows and find out for yourself. I have tried alot of different brands and styles before I setteled on dryad bows.

I have both....I like both!!!!!

Raging Water

I have both as well. Again, it is like Ginger or Maryanne. No wrong choice.

Might try black widows test drive a bow program. You can play with a widow close to the stats you want and see if it grows on you.

I have a widow in 64" it's pretty good I like my Morrison better. I shot a dark horse by Bob Lee it was a great shooter too.

Shoot both and see which responds to you and if not possible you can't go wrong with either. I had a 64" Morrison longbow and boy was it a shooter! You may want to consider one if you have a chance to.

Raging Water...that's a new classic line. I wish I had thought of it.

Have shot both and I prefer the Widow PSR, I found the Bob Lee bulky

I have owned both and though I like bob lee's I have shot some I like and some I didn't.

I have never shot a widow I didn't like and currently own 2.

My brother on the flip side is the opposite loves lee's and enjoys widows but always goes to his lee.

Only way you can decide is to shoot both what others says honestly doesn't matter.  Buy used and resell until you find what tickles your pickle then settle in on one.

Have both, enjoy both but they are different animals. For me, the Widow is a bit quicker, but the Lee a bit more stable. I like the weight, grip and look of both. Both can be quieted down with the right combination of silencing materials. Depending on which Lee, you might get a great bargain with their current sale stuff. Widow has more exotic woods available. Both companies are great to work with so no problem there. Try them if you can, then decide.

I have shot a widow a few times, but never ouwned one. I really love my bob lee. Im very surprised to read that bob lees are loud. Mine is super quiet. Im shooting a 54" 59 @ 28 and all I have to quite it down is 2 little wool puff balls.

Long bow or longer bow?

If a long bow I'd look at the big Jim buffalo bow.  Shot dads next to my widow psaii and though I'd rather give up my liver than my widow, it shot incredibly well and a looker to boot.

If hunting is your game, widows are well renowned for their durability.  I got mine because it will and has been used as a walking stick to cross streams/ rivers, and hunted hard and looks brand new.

Good luck, never heard a bow owner say they didn't like their own bow...
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!

Ya know, you're only about 6 hrs from Nixa.  Sounds like a good enough excuss to me for a road trip.  You can try out any bow you want if you pay B.W. a visit.

Owned both - Widow hands down.  The Lee's are nice bows no doubt, but having the choice I'd go Widow for sure.
