Congrats Izzy!    I'm heading down to Rays in less than a month and I can't wait.  Already losing sleep just thinking about the  beauty of the hunt.

Whoooo hoooooo, I did it finally.Anyway this is my favorite pic of em all.The water in the background separates the mud flat that I stalked on him from small high spots in the swamp.I shot from about 15 yards behind where "Marbles" and I are in the pic and he died right about where he lays in pic.The pics dont do the swamp justice.No sign of human presence, birds calling non stop and the smell of swamp decay and call me crazy but I find the smell of swamp very pleasant.

Yeah bud, glad you pointed that out I didnt notice em in the pic this is the first time Ive seen it blown up.The back arrow is just the footing after I pulled a long length of it out.

My two Rays, Hammond on the left Melendez on the right.Its good to have gullible hunting partners.I told them to pull the cart so I could take a pic from behind and then ran off into the swamp and hooked up in front of them all the way to the truck.And besides,my gloves were too slippery from all that mud to get a good hold on the cart.

Heres camp.Rick and Shawn Butler, Ray way in the back and the funniest cat ever Doug Gilmore.By the way Doug we ran into Mother Green and The Piccolo player somewhere in N.C., nice folks.This is where the feasting takes place.Rennaisance Ray Hammond can cook better than yo mama, sharpen a broad head to scalpel like sharpness, tell you a real cool, funny story all at the same time. He can also reproduce the call of a barking spider so accurately that it lures more to the scene and before you know it camp is full of em.Or maybe they just come for those giant ribeyes that melt in your mouth, or the chicken and dumplings,or the hog sausage and spaghetti.All deliscious but youll work it off in the sawmp.

And these fellas are everywhere and they dont concern themselves with anything but what theyre rooting for.If you look at the bottom left of pic thats my boot.This was my first of many, many dilla encounters.At first I thought everyone I heard rustling was a pig over the rise but after a while you get to tell the difference.I couldnt get myself to poke an arra through any of them but if any of you all got a (tasty recipe) I will next time.

Izz made a great first shot- entered just in front of the ham, as you can see, and traveled up through and cut the bottom out of the heart- second shot ended up being unnecessary, but like I always tell folks, if he's standing up, you better empty that quiver!
