Can someone please tell me the grains per inch or what a bare Grizzly Stik Alaskan shaft would weigh cut to 28 inches? I know the brass inserts that come with these are around 70 grains. Also nock weight for these? I have looked and have had trouble finding enough information. Also the arrow spine range and deflection.I think the spine ranges from 50 to 80.I dont use these but am playing around with Stu's calculator trying to give some advice to a friend.

My Alaskan 30" finished with a 185gr Samuria weighs 683grains.  Deflection is .330. I shoot a 66# at 29" homemade glass recurve. I shoot 3-3.5" homemade blazer feathers i burn.  so to back all this out 11-12.5 grains per inch raw shaft.
Aim down your arrow because thats where it's going.

Hello Junglecat,

static spine for ALASKAN is designed for 50#-80# + bows.

Weight of original nock: 12 gr.
Weight of brass insert : 70 gr.
Weight of bare Alaskan shaft cut to 28 (from nock groove to end of shaft without any insert)  including original Nock :   348 gr.

STATIC SPINE and DYNAMIC SPINE are different worlds !!!!!!

Hope that helps.
Daniel
